What they need
About NESTEC:
NESTEC is a full-service equipment design firm specializing in plant emissions-control solutions. Our teams design, supply, install, service, rebuild, and maintain industrial air-pollution-control equipment and related systems.
Position Summary:
NESTEC is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee field installation and construction activities for industrial emissions-control equipment and related systems. This position serves as NESTEC's day-to-day representative at project sites and coordinates subcontractors, installation crews, customers, vendors, and internal project personnel to support safe, high-quality, and timely project execution.
The Construction Supervisor monitors field progress, verifies conformance with project drawings and specifications, coordinates site activities and inspections, documents field conditions, manages punch-list completion, and supports construction turnover, commissioning, and startup. The role requires extensive travel, independent judgment, strong customer communication, and timely escalation of issues affecting safety, quality, scope, cost, or schedule.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Promote and enforce compliance with NESTEC, customer, contractor, and project-specific safety requirements.
· Coordinate the daily activities of subcontractors, vendors, and installation crews at assigned project sites.
· Lead daily planning, coordination, safety, and progress discussions, as applicable to the project.
· Review construction drawings, mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, equipment manuals, and installation requirements before and during field execution.
· Monitor construction progress and promptly communicate schedule risks, manpower concerns, delivery issues, site constraints, and other impediments to NESTEC project management.
· Verify that work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and authorized changes.
· Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with the responsible contractor or project team.
· Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, progress records, issue logs, and other required field documentation.
· Coordinate receipt, inspection, storage, preservation, and tracking of NESTEC-supplied equipment and materials at the jobsite.
· Identify changed conditions, potential scope deviations, and customer-requested changes and promptly communicate them to NESTEC project management before proceeding.
· Coordinate inspections, testing, punch-list activities, construction turnover, and commissioning readiness.
· Support equipment startup, performance testing, troubleshooting, and customer training as assigned.
· Maintain professional working relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, plant personnel, and NESTEC team members.
· Perform other project and field-support duties consistent with the position.
Authority and Escalation:
The Construction Supervisor may coordinate and direct approved field activities but may not authorize changes to contract scope, cost, schedule, or commercial terms without approval from the designated NESTEC Project Manager. Safety incidents, quality deficiencies, potential change conditions, and material risks to project cost or schedule must be documented and escalated promptly.
Required Qualifications:
· Three or more years of industrial construction, installation, field supervision, field service, commissioning, or closely related experience.
· Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, or multi-trade field crews.
· Ability to read and interpret construction, mechanical, and electrical drawings; specifications; schematics; and equipment manuals.
· Working knowledge of industrial construction safety requirements and jobsite safety practices.
· Ability to document progress, field conditions, deficiencies, and action items clearly and accurately.
· Strong customer communication, coordination, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
· Ability to work independently while maintaining close communication with NESTEC project management.
· Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75% or more and work extended hours, weekends, holidays, or plant-shutdown schedules when required.
· Valid driver's license and ability to meet NESTEC travel requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Five or more years of relevant industrial construction or field leadership experience.
· Experience with industrial air-pollution-control equipment, thermal oxidizers, WESPs, ductwork, structural steel, insulation, refractory, process piping, or related systems.
· Mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or commissioning experience.
· Experience supporting equipment startup, performance testing, troubleshooting, and customer training.
· OSHA 30 or comparable construction-safety training.
· Familiarity with programmable logic controller (PLC)-controlled industrial equipment.
· Welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial electrical knowledge.
· Experience using scissor lifts, boom lifts, or other industrial access equipment.
Travel and Work Conditions:
This is a field-based position requiring approximately 75% or more travel. Assignments may require extended periods away from home and work during evenings, weekends, holidays, or scheduled plant shutdowns. Work schedules vary based on project and customer requirements. The position may involve work in active industrial facilities and construction areas, including exposure to outdoor conditions, elevated work areas, noise, dust, and temperature extremes. Required personal protective equipment must be used as applicable.
