About Emerald

Emerald is a women-owned firm providing architectural, interior, and construction services through integrated design-build or standalone design and construction offerings. Our projects include residential renovations, additions, custom homes, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), modular construction, and commercial projects.

We are currently seeking a Construction Site Supervisor to join our growing team. This individual will work closely with our General Contractor and Construction Project Manager to oversee daily field operations across multiple active construction projects.

If you enjoy coordinating crews, solving field problems, and keeping several jobsites moving, we’d love to hear from you.

About this Position:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to provide field leadership, coordination, and quality oversight across our residential and commercial projects. This individual will regularly move between active jobsites, assess progress and upcoming needs, direct crews and subcontractors, and help execute project schedules. The ideal candidate can maintain awareness of multiple projects while responding quickly when a site needs immediate attention. At least five years of relevant construction experience is required; that experience does not need to be in hands-on trade work. This role focuses on field management and works closely with Project Management on issues affecting scope, cost, schedule, and client commitments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily field operations across multiple active construction projects
  • Travel regularly between jobsites to assess progress, quality, staffing, safety, and upcoming needs
  • Direct and support Foremen, field crews, and subcontractors to maintain productive daily operations
  • Coordinate construction sequencing, inspections, deliveries, equipment, and jobsite logistics
  • Work with Project Management to execute schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts
  • Read construction drawings and specifications, verify field work, and communicate discrepancies before work proceeds
  • Conduct regular site walkthroughs to review workmanship, building assemblies, and adherence to project requirements
  • Reprioritize daily activities and respond to urgent jobsite needs on short notice
  • Coordinate material needs, procurement requests, deliveries, storage, and protection of completed work
  • Maintain safe, organized, secure, and professional jobsites; address hazards and reinforce company safety practices
  • Ensure daily logs, progress photographs, and field updates are maintained in Buildertrend or company systems
  • Communicate unforeseen conditions, potential changes, subcontractor concerns, and inspection deficiencies to Project Management; support punch lists and closeout

This is a full-time, field-based position serving multiple active jobsites in Central Massachusetts and surrounding areas, with coordination through our Leominster, MA office. Daily travel and flexibility to move between sites on short notice are essential.

Skills and Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Minimum five years of relevant construction industry experience is required. Experience may include field supervision, project management, coordination, or skilled trades; hands-on trade experience is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee construction activities, field personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple active jobsites simultaneously and maintain awareness of each project’s status and priorities.
  • Required ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, including site/civil, architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing documents.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, and coordination between trades.
  • Highly flexible and responsive, with the ability to shift between sites and provide support wherever needed on short notice.
  • Ability to independently assess field conditions, identify problems, and coordinate appropriate next steps.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to reprioritize competing needs.
  • Clear leadership and communication skills when directing crews and coordinating subcontractors.
  • Comfortable working independently while maintaining consistent communication with Project Management.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and digital tools for field reporting, scheduling, and communication.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
  • Experience overseeing residential or light commercial construction is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of sitework, foundations, framing, building envelopes, MEP coordination, and interior finishes is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification and experience reinforcing jobsite safety practices are preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation between active jobsites are required.
  • Demonstrates accountability, sound judgment, initiative, and willingness to support a small, collaborative design-build team.

Salary & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with relevant experience
  • PTO, sick time, company holidays
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401(k) program with company match
  • Team outings and events
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • A collaborative and supportive work environment
  • Involvement in exciting and diverse projects
  • Varied assignments across active projects
