SKILLED RENOVATION & CONSTRUCTION WORKER

Interior & Exterior Residential Renovations
Limitless Home Renovations LLC – Roselle, NJ

Limitless Home Renovations LLC is a fully licensed and insured New Jersey home renovation company looking for reliable, motivated, and experienced individuals to join our growing team.

We specialize in a wide variety of interior and exterior residential renovation and construction projects, ranging from demolition and repairs to complete finished renovations.

We are looking for individuals with general construction and renovation experience who are comfortable working on different types of projects from week to week.

WE ARE CURRENTLY ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN CANDIDATES WITH EXTERIOR RENOVATION AND CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE.

You do not need to be an expert in every trade listed below. However, you should have legitimate hands-on construction experience, be honest about your skill level, be willing to learn, and be able to demonstrate the skills and experience you claim to have.

TYPES OF WORK WE PERFORMInterior Renovations

Our interior projects may include:

  • Demolition and job-site preparation
  • Wood and metal framing
  • Drywall installation
  • Drywall taping, spackling, sanding, and finishing
  • Interior painting
  • Tile installation
  • Vinyl plank and other flooring installation
  • Doors, trim, molding, and baseboards
  • Finish carpentry
  • Kitchen renovations
  • Bathroom renovations
  • Basement renovations
  • Cabinet installation and repairs
  • Fixture installation
  • General residential repairs and remodeling
  • Complete renovation projects from demolition through final finishing

Exterior Renovations

Exterior renovation experience is currently one of our biggest hiring priorities.

We are specifically interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Paver installation
  • Patio construction and repairs
  • Retaining wall construction
  • Deck construction and repairs
  • Deck framing
  • Vinyl railing installation
  • Exterior stairs and railings
  • Fencing
  • Exterior carpentry
  • Siding and exterior trim repairs
  • General landscaping-related construction
  • General exterior repairs and renovations

Experience with pavers, retaining walls, decks, and vinyl railings is a major plus.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for employees who understand that residential renovation is not only about completing the physical work. You will be working in and around customers' homes and properties, so professionalism, cleanliness, communication, reliability, and respect for our customers are extremely important.

The ideal employee:

  • Has previous residential construction or renovation experience
  • Has general contractor/installer-level knowledge in one or more trades
  • Can safely and properly operate common hand and power tools
  • Can take accurate measurements
  • Can follow instructions and project plans
  • Understands basic construction methods
  • Pays attention to detail and finish quality
  • Can complete tasks independently once instructions are provided
  • Is willing to learn trades or skills they are less experienced with
  • Keeps the job site organized and clean
  • Takes proper care of company tools, equipment, and materials
  • Arrives consistently and on time
  • Communicates when there is a question or problem
  • Works well with other employees
  • Maintains a professional attitude around customers
  • Takes pride in the quality of their work

We do not expect one person to know every trade.

We would rather have an employee be upfront about what they know and do not know than claim experience they cannot demonstrate.

STARTING PAY & 30-DAY EVALUATION PERIOD

All new employees start at our standard helper/evaluation rate of $120–$150 per day for the first 30 days.

This applies to all new hires regardless of the amount of experience listed on an application or résumé.

The first 30 days give both the employee and the company an opportunity to work together and determine the employee's actual hands-on abilities.

During this period, we will evaluate:

  • Construction knowledge
  • Quality of workmanship
  • Productivity
  • Reliability and attendance
  • Ability to arrive on time
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Professionalism around customers
  • Ability to work with the rest of the crew
  • Proper use and care of tools and materials
  • Overall attitude and willingness to work and learn

We understand that an experienced installer or contractor may normally earn more than $120–$150 per day.

The initial helper/evaluation rate is not intended to represent your long-term earning potential with the company.

It allows us to evaluate your actual performance in the field rather than determining your permanent pay rate solely from an application, résumé, or interview.

PAY AFTER THE FIRST 30 DAYS

After successfully completing the initial 30-day evaluation period, we will review your performance and demonstrated skill level.

At that time, the employee and company will discuss and agree upon an appropriate installer/skilled-worker daily rate based on demonstrated ability and the responsibilities the employee is capable of handling.

Installer-level rates may generally range from approximately $150–$275+ per day, depending on experience, workmanship, productivity, reliability, and ability to perform skilled work independently.

Higher installer rates are intended for employees who can demonstrate skills such as:

  • Independently framing walls or structures
  • Installing and professionally finishing drywall
  • Installing flooring
  • Installing tile
  • Performing finish carpentry
  • Building or repairing decks
  • Installing pavers
  • Building retaining walls
  • Installing vinyl railings
  • Handling exterior carpentry
  • Completing portions of renovation projects with limited supervision
  • Troubleshooting common job-site conditions
  • Taking responsibility for completing assigned work correctly

Previous experience is important, but demonstrated performance on our actual projects will be the primary factor in determining your installer rate.

FUTURE PAY INCREASES & ADVANCEMENT

The 30-day review is not the only opportunity to increase your compensation.

Employees may be reevaluated again approximately 3–6 months after being hired based on continued performance, increased skills, reliability, productivity, and responsibilities.

There is room to grow within the company.

Employees who demonstrate the ability to independently handle larger portions of projects, take responsibility for installations, help oversee other workers, communicate professionally with customers, and consistently produce quality work may have opportunities for:

  • Increased daily pay
  • Installer-level positions
  • Lead installer responsibilities
  • Increased project responsibility
  • Additional advancement as the company continues to grow

We want employees who are interested in developing their skills and increasing their value to the company over time.

PAY SCHEDULE

Employees are paid weekly after the first week.

Daily compensation is based on the employee's current agreed-upon rate and position.

TRANSPORTATION REQUIREMENT

Reliable transportation is required.

Employees must have dependable transportation to and from Roselle, NJ or another designated meeting/job-site location when instructed.

Our projects are located throughout different areas of New Jersey, so the job location can change depending on the active project.

Transportation problems should not regularly interfere with attendance, scheduling, or the ability to arrive to work on time.

TOOLS

Having your own basic set of contractor hand tools when starting is a plus, but it is not required for a new employee.

The company provides many larger and specialty tools required for our projects.

Employees hired without their own basic tools will be expected to gradually purchase and maintain their own standard set of everyday contractor hand tools within approximately 2–3 months of their hire date.

Employees are expected to properly maintain and take care of both their personal tools and any company tools or equipment they are permitted to use.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is intended to be a full-time position.

Our schedule depends on active projects, customer requirements, weather, material availability, and other normal construction conditions.

Employees should be prepared to work full construction days and travel to different project locations as required.

Some projects may be indoors while others may require working outdoors.

Because we perform both interior and exterior renovations, employees should understand that schedules can occasionally change because of:

  • Weather conditions
  • Material deliveries
  • Customer availability
  • Unexpected job-site conditions
  • Changes in project timelines

Flexibility and communication are important.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Residential renovation and construction can be physically demanding.

Employees should be comfortable performing normal construction activities, including:

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Bending and kneeling
  • Carrying construction materials
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Performing demolition
  • Working indoors and outdoors
  • Climbing stairs
  • Using ladders when appropriate for the assigned work
  • Cleaning and organizing job sites
  • Loading and unloading tools and materials

PROFESSIONALISM ON CUSTOMER PROPERTIES

Because most of our work takes place at residential properties, employees represent Limitless Home Renovations LLC while on the job.

Employees are expected to:

  • Treat customers respectfully
  • Respect customers' homes and personal property
  • Maintain professional language and behavior
  • Keep work areas reasonably clean and organized
  • Follow company instructions regarding customer communication
  • Avoid unnecessary damage to finished areas
  • Properly protect work areas when instructed
  • Clean up after themselves
  • Conduct themselves professionally while wearing company clothing or representing the company

BEFORE APPLYING

Please apply only if you are seriously interested in consistent construction and renovation work and can reliably report to work.

You do not have to know every trade.

We are willing to work with employees who have strong abilities in certain areas and are willing to learn additional skills.

What matters most is that you are:

Reliable. Honest about your experience. Willing to work. Willing to learn. Professional with customers. And committed to producing quality work.

WHEN APPLYING, PLEASE PROVIDE:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Number of years of construction/renovation experience
  • Your strongest construction skills

  • Specific experience with pavers, retaining walls, decks, and vinyl railings
