Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer with strong expertise in Python automation, object-oriented programming (OOP), and software engineering best practices. The candidate will support the NetApp OCI to DII transition, including report conversion, custom data integrations, and Python package development and delivery.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Python design patterns, building reusable frameworks and packages, and managing software delivery through tools such as JFrog Artifactory. The candidate should be capable of working independently, understanding existing documentation and codebases, and mentoring junior developers. Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the NetApp OCI to DII transition through report conversion and custom data integrations.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Python applications using object-oriented programming principles.
• Apply software design patterns and engineering best practices to build scalable, reusable, and maintainable solutions.
• Build, package, and distribute Python libraries and applications.
• Manage package delivery and deployment processes using Artifactory.
• Develop custom integrations, automation solutions, and reporting functionalities.
• Understand existing frameworks, documentation, and development workflows to deliver solutions independently.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude to accelerate development and improve productivity.
• Develop mini-agents and AI-assisted automation solutions where applicable.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and reliable delivery of project requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), beyond basic scripting.
• Knowledge of common software design patterns and software engineering principles.
• Experience building, packaging, and distributing Python applications and libraries.
• Familiarity with software delivery, deployment, and package management processes.
• Experience developing custom integrations, reporting solutions, and automation frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and quickly understand existing codebases, documentation, and development environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude.
• Experience building complete projects or frameworks using AI-assisted development tools.
• Ability to develop AI agents and reusable agent skills.
• Experience with JFrog Artifactory or similar artifact repositories.
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts and data integration workflows.
