Consulting Project Manager ( GIS)

Title: IG Consulting - GIS Project Manager

Location: San Ramon – Hybrid – 2x in San Ramon office per week

Long Term Contract/ Ongoing/ FTE Conversion Possible

Position Summary

The GIS Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of geospatial projects across various domains. This role ensures successful implementation of GIS solutions by managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, and stakeholder alignment while driving quality and innovation in geospatial data and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end GIS project lifecycle including requirements, design, development, and deployment.

• Define project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.

• Manage cross-functional GIS teams and stakeholders.

• Oversee GIS solution design and implementation (e.g., ArcGIS, Enterprise GIS).

• Ensure data quality, governance, and standards compliance.

• Monitor project performance, risks, and KPIs.

• Provide executive-level reporting and updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field.

• 3+ years of GIS and project management experience.

• Experience managing complex technology or GIS projects.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Technical Skills

• Experience with ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, or Enterprise GIS platforms.

• Knowledge of spatial data management and geospatial analytics.

• Familiarity with databases and integrations.

• Experience with analytics tools such as Power BI is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification.

• Utility, engineering, or infrastructure industry experience.

• Experience with large enterprise GIS programs or transformations.
