Inland Transport Planner / Container Transport Dispatcher – Netherlands

We are looking for an experience d Inland Transport Planner / Dispatch er with a strong background i n containerized transportation and shipping operatio ns across the Netherlands. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience planning and coordinating container movements, along with a solid understanding of the Dutch transportation network, major cities, ports, terminals, and inland transport corridors. Based on the provided role requirements and transport-planning responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the timely movement of import and export containers across the Netherlands
• Optimize container transport routes while balancing service quality, operational efficiency, and cost
• Work closely with trucking companies, terminals, depots, rail operators, and other transport partners
• Monitor transport execution and proactively resolve operational disruptions
• Ensure transport activities meet customer requirements and agreed service levels
• Track performance, maintain operational reports, and identify improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with customer service, commercial teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure seamless container movements
• Drive continuous improvements in transport planning and execution processes

Required Experience

• 2–5+ years of experience in transportation, shipping, or container logistics
• Strong understanding of the Dutch transportation network, including key ports, cities, regions, terminals, and inland transport routes
• Proven experience in containerized transport operations (road, rail, barge, or intermodal transportation)
• Hands-on experience planning and dispatching container movements
• Knowledge of container transport documentation, operational processes, and carrier coordination
• Experience working with shipping lines, transport providers, terminals, depots, or freight operators is highly preferred
• Familiarity with transport planning systems and Microsoft Office applications
