CONTAINER YARD CHECKER

Responsible for monitoring and coordinating cargo consolidation, container balance monitoring, vessel rebooking, and cargo discrepancy investigations. The position ensures the accurate consolidation and stuffing of cargo, timely utilization of containers, proper documentation, and compliance with company procedures, particularly for receiving and handling dangerous goods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Container Van Quality Control

Ensure all container vans meet quality standards by conducting daily inventory of vans in the container yard (CY) and performing thorough inspections of empty vans for pinholes, damages, or contamination (e.g., insects) to prevent client rejection. Coordinate with relevant teams for any issues identified.

• Stuffing and Checking

Oversee the loading process, ensuring proper handling and stuffing of goods inside the reefer van.

This includes verifying booking details, enforcing PPE compliance, checking goods for damages, validating item counts and SKUs, coordinating with clients on schedules, and monitoring adherence to company standards.

• Documentation and Sealing

Ensure all required documents are complete and accurate, including invoices and loading lists.

Verify quantities against documents, supervise container sealing for security, and ensure all necessary paperwork is handed over to the driver while keeping photocopies for records.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree or at least college-level education
• Experience 1–2 years of experience in the logistics industry (preferably as a checker)
