Content Creator

About the Role

PMGL is seeking a Content Creator to join the Community Markets and Events team on a casual basis. The role captures and produces engaging content, including photos, video and reels, at PMGL weekend markets and events, working to a weekly content scope set by the Marketing & Communications Officer. The role will initially run for 6 months, subject to review.

Key Duties and Responsibilites

• Capture photo and video content on-site at the Sunday Community Market and Saturday Wholesale Market (alternating weekends where required), following a weekly content brief provided by the Marketing & Communications Officer.
• Produce and edit short-form videos (e.g. reels) to be scheduled/posted on social media platforms, such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube.
• Identify moments worth capturing and post timely and engaging stories on Instagram and Facebook during market opening hours.
• Monitor social media tags during market hours and promptly reshare relevant posts.
• Provide additional raw photo and video content for use in other marketing and communications activities.
• Liaise with stallholders and market staff to identify content opportunities, such as new stalls, events and promotions.
• Produce content in line with PMGL brand and social media guidelines.
• Follow PMGL guidelines on filming the public, stallholders and children, including obtaining consent where required.
• Maintain organised files of captured content for handover to the Marketing & Communications Officer.
• Comply with PMGL work health and safety policies and report any hazards or incidents to the Community Market & Event Manager.
• Any additional content creation tasks provided during a weekly content brief with the Marketing & Communications Officer.

Reporting and Supervision

• Reports to: Community Markets & Events Manager
• Day-to-day supervision: Marketing & Communications Officer (remote)
• On-site supervision: Community Markets & Events Manager

Experience and Skills Required

• Prior experience in content creation and can confidently shoot and edit high-quality short-form videos.
• Is confident in using video editing tools on various social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
• Is comfortable behind the camera, but also directing people in front of it.
• Has a strong eye for visuals, composition and editing.
• Ability to develop hooks, concepts, scripts and creative ideas designed to advertise the markets and capture attention.
• Ability to spot and incorporate trends, sounds and themes, and work out how to make them relevant to our business/brand.
• Comfortable working in an outdoor, fast-paced market environment.
• Strong communication skills and confidence approaching stallholders and members of the public.

Role Requirements

• The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, carrying camera equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Early morning availability on weekends required.

Measures of Success

• Weekly content delivered to brief and on time.
• Quality and consistency of content in line with PMGL brand guidelines.
• Positive working relationships with stallholders and staff.
• Increased engagement on varying social media platforms.

Employment Details

• Casual basis.
• Approx 5-6 hour shifts on weekends.
• Initial 6-month engagement, subject to review.
• All content created in this role remains the property of PMGL.
• Equipment provided by PMGL.
