JustSimply Marketing (JSM) is a fast-scaling, fully remote marketing agency based in Ontario, Canada. We help US and Canadian personal brands grow and monetize, from content and video to launches for info products and high-ticket programs. We've worked with Danny Singson, Dr. Nae and Shaun T.

TEAM VISION

YouTube is where our clients build trust at scale and where viewers turn into buyers. The video team exists to make every upload hold attention, and editors who drive results grow with the team under the Video Editor Manager.

THE ROLE

You own the edit on our clients' YouTube channels: 8–20 minute long-form videos plus the Shorts that feed them. You shape raw footage into stories that keep viewers watching, using pacing, visuals, subtitles and sound design to protect retention from the first second to the end screen.

You report to the Video Editor Manager and work with our scriptwriters, thumbnail designers, short-form editors and the Social Media team. You're judged on retention, watch time and CTR, not on polish for its own sake.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU

• Edit long-form YouTube videos (8–20 min) and Shorts built for retention.

• Build strong openings and pattern interrupts that hold attention through the whole video.

• Own storytelling, transitions and motion graphics in every edit.

• Optimize pacing, visuals, subtitles and sound design.

• Cut Shorts from long-form uploads to drive viewers back to the channel.

• Review video performance in YouTube Studio and bring what you learn into the next edit.

• Use AI tools like Descript for transcripts, rough cuts and cleanup to ship faster.

• Stay current with YouTube trends and algorithm changes.

REQUIREMENTS

• A portfolio of YouTube edits.

• A clear understanding of audience retention and CTR.

• Skilled in color grading, sound editing and motion graphics.

• Fluent in Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. DaVinci Resolve and After Effects are a plus.

• AI-forward: Descript or similar AI editing tools are already part of your workflow.

• SEO, analytics and basic thumbnail skills are a plus.

RESULTS

In your first 90 days:

• Your edits run on a consistent weekly publishing schedule for your channels [confirm].

• Average view duration on your videos beats each channel's starting baseline.

• Every long-form video you edit ships with Shorts cut from it.

• You deliver a written retention review for each video you edit, with changes for the next one.

• Revision rounds drop as you learn each client's brand and style.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE

• Fully remote, open worldwide.

• Flexible hours, with enough overlap with JSM's core hours (6:00 AM–2:00 PM EST / 6:00 PM–2:00 AM PHT) to hit review cycles.

• Deadlines are firm. Channels publish on schedule, so your edits do too.
