Continental Chef

A Continental Chef prepares, cooks, and presents European-inspired dishes—including French, Italian, and Mediterranean cuisine—while maintaining high kitchen safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Cook soups, sauces, pastas, grilled items, and baked goods following exact recipe and menu specifications.
• Mise en Place: Organize ingredients, prep workstations, and stock inventory before service shifts.
• Quality & Hygiene Control: Maintain strict cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation rules, including HACCP guidelines.
• Kitchen Coordination: Assist senior chefs, coordinate with kitchen assistants, and train junior or Commis chefs. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional cooking experience in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or high-end kitchen.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of Western cooking techniques, multi-tasking under pressure, and solid communication. [1, 2, 3]
