Job Title: Continuous Improvement & Systems Analyst

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Department: Operations – Continuous Improvement

KULR Technology Group is a publicly traded company (NYSE: KULR) with a vibrant startup dynamic headquartered in Webster, Texas. Our mission is developing energy management platforms to accelerate the global transition to a circular electrification economy. We create sustainable solutions that benefit humanity using space-proven engineering, making the world of batteries and electronics cooler, lighter, and safer. We operate in four verticals: e-mobility, environmental/energy storage, industrial/consumer tools, and aerospace/defense. Our technologies have been deployed by NASA, including applications on the Space Station and Mars Rover.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Continuous Improvement & Systems Analyst is an Operations-wide analytical and business-systems role. It serves production, equipment, warehouse, and supply chain leaders by quantifying how work flows through KULR’s battery operation — labor hours per pack, takt and cycle time, line balance, equipment availability, material flow, freight and inventory cost — and by turning improvement opportunities into financial business cases and into system requirements, acceptance criteria, and user documentation for KULR’s internal, AI-enabled operations platform.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Analyst does not belong to any one function. The role produces analyses, models, process maps, specifications, dashboards, and savings reports, and maintains KULR's supplier compliance data and inventory planning parameters in KiOS, KULR's internal AI-enabled operating system. The Production Supervisors, Equipment & Maintenance Manager, Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager, Warehouse & Logistics Specialist, and the Controller's procurement team own the operational work those deliverables describe. The Analyst is an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibility.

DELIVERABLES

The role is measured on these outputs:

  • Financial business cases for improvement initiatives (payback, annualized savings, sensitivity), and a savings tracker showing planned versus realized results by initiative.
  • Labor and throughput analytics: labor hours per unit by configuration, takt and cycle-time studies, line-balance and staffing models, utilization and idle-time analysis from the platform’s labor data.
  • Current-state and future-state process maps for production, warehouse, kitting, receiving, and shipping workflows.
  • Functional specifications, data definitions, and acceptance criteria for Operations enhancements to the platform; executed user-acceptance test plans with results.
  • Analytics models and dashboards in the platform for cost, throughput, labor, equipment, and freight, built to KPI frameworks owned by the respective Operations leaders.
  • Freight-rate benchmarks and consolidation scenarios for the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager’s decision.
  • User work instructions and training materials for platform features.
  • Min/max, reorder point, and safety stock parameters for common stock, calculated and maintained in KiOS and reviewed monthly.
  • A current, audit-ready supplier compliance file in KiOS: Approved Vendor List records, supplier certificates with expiration tracking, and NDAA / country-of-origin attestations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SCOPE OF WORK

Cost & Throughput Analysis

  • Builds quantitative business cases for initiatives identified by Operations leaders — labor productivity, line balancing, changeover reduction, equipment availability, freight consolidation, packaging, expedite-spend reduction, and inventory carrying cost — and tracks realized savings against plan for the monthly review with Finance.
  • Performs time studies and cycle-time analysis with Production Supervisors; models takt, station balance, and crew size by product configuration; quantifies the throughput effect of proposed changes.
  • Analyzes platform labor data (hours by work order, program, and station) to report labor hours per unit, utilization, and idle time, and to identify cross-training and allocation opportunities for the Production Supervisors’ decision.
  • Performs freight-rate analytics — benchmarks LTL, parcel, and dangerous-goods rates across carriers and lanes, models consolidation scenarios — and prepares recommendations for the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager. The Analyst does not book shipments, select carriers, or manage carrier relationships.
  • Prepares spend and demand-history analytics on request of the Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager and Controller in support of their sourcing decisions. The Analyst contacts suppliers only to request compliance documentation (certificates and NDAA attestations) and does not negotiate with, select, or qualify suppliers.

Business-Systems Analysis for the Operations Platform

  • Maps current-state workflows across production, equipment, warehouse, kitting, receiving, labor, and shipping; identifies manual, duplicated, or error-prone steps that can be automated or improved in KULR’s internal, AI-enabled operations platform.
  • Authors functional requirements, data definitions, and acceptance criteria for Operations enhancements; works with the platform team through design, build, and release.
  • Designs exception reports and automated checks (for example, labor-to-work-order mismatches, platform-to-NetSuite inventory variance alerts during the NetSuite migration, equipment downtime flags) so that issues surface automatically. Investigation and correction of individual transactions remain with the owning function.
  • Plans and executes user-acceptance testing for releases affecting Operations workflows; documents results and defects; coordinates fixes with the platform team.
  • Writes and maintains user work instructions and quick-reference guides; delivers user training; collects feedback for the next release.
  • Standardizes data definitions and calculation methods so that reporting is consistent and trusted in the platform, and agrees with NetSuite while both systems are in use during the migration.

Continuous Improvement Facilitation

  • Facilitates improvement events (process mapping, 5 Whys, standard-work documentation, 5S assessments) with production and warehouse teams at the request of the owning leader; tracks actions to closure and quantifies results.
  • Maintains the Operations improvement log and reports progress to the VP of Operations monthly.

Supplier Compliance Data & Inventory Planning (KiOS)

  • NDAA and country-of-origin attestations (owner): requests written NDAA compliance and country-of-origin attestations from suppliers by part family, records them in KiOS, tracks open requests to closure, and flags missing or non-compliant suppliers to the VP of Operations, Quality, and the Controller. Verbal commitments are not accepted.
  • Supplier certificates (owner): collects and records supplier quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100) and other required certificates in KiOS, tracks expiration dates, requests renewals before they lapse, and reports upcoming expirations monthly.
  • Approved Vendor List (owner): maintains AVL records in KiOS, including supplier status (approved, conditional, one-time, R&D, probation, do not use), supplier evaluation forms, and onboarding documents received from Procurement. Status changes are approved by Quality; the list is kept audit-ready for AS9100.
  • Min/max, reorder points, and safety stock: calculates and maintains planning parameters for common stock in KiOS using consumption history, bills of material, lead times, and order minimums from the Purchaser; validates quantities with Production and the Warehouse & Logistics Specialist; reviews and adjusts them monthly.
  • Builds automated KiOS reports for upcoming material shortages, supplier certificate expirations, and missing attestations so the owning functions can act on them.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

WHAT THIS ROLE DOES NOT DO

To keep ownership clear, the following remain with the functions named and are outside this role's scope: supervising production or warehouse staff; material planning execution, purchase requisitions, or purchase orders; cycle counts, inventory adjustments, or transfers; supplier selection, qualification decisions, performance management, or negotiation; shipment booking, carrier coordination, or dangerous-goods documentation; equipment maintenance or repair; and day-to-day administration of NetSuite. Shortage resolution and cycle counts sit with the Warehouse & Logistics Specialist; purchasing sits with the Controller's procurement team; supplier status approval sits with Quality.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None. This position is an individual contributor directed by the Vice President of Operations.

Education & Experience
