What We Do At Weir We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What You’ll Do ⦿ Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead defined cross-functional improvement projects from problem definition through implementation, validation, and sustainment, ensuring measurable results in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee engagement.

⦿ Problem-Solving Facilitation: Coach project owners and team members in foundational A3, PDCA, and root-cause problem-solving practices, supporting the development of clear problem statements linked to validated root causes and countermeasures.

⦿ Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze operational and financial data to establish baselines, identify trends, quantify opportunities, and measure results against key performance indicators, preparing concise, evidence-based recommendations.

⦿ Event Planning and Execution: Plan and facilitate Kaizen events, value-stream mapping, process mapping, 5S/6S, standard work, and visual management activities using a disciplined event process including preparation, execution, and follow-up.

⦿ Collaboration and Influence: Partner with site leaders, metric owners, and employees to translate business priorities and performance gaps into structured problem-solving and focused improvement activity, influencing without direct authority.

⦿ Continuous Improvement Roadmap: Maintain a rolling three-month CI roadmap linking major improvement activities to site priorities, KPIs, expected outcomes, timing, ownership, and resource needs.

⦿ Sustainment and Standardization: Develop standard work, control plans, performance measures, and visual controls that clarify ownership and sustain improvements.

⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What You’ll Bring Must-haves: ⦿ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.

⦿ Approximately 2-4 years of relevant manufacturing or continuous improvement experience, preferably in heavy industrial or foundry environments.

⦿ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to define problems, validate causes, and measure results.

⦿ Effective facilitation, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build trust and maintain accountability across functions.

Nice-to-haves: ⦿ Lean or Six Sigma certification or willingness to pursue certification after hire.

⦿ Experience with Lean manufacturing tools such as A3, PDCA, Kaizen, 5S/6S, value-stream mapping, and root-cause analysis.

⦿ Background in Continuous Improvement Specialist, Process Engineer, or Continuous Improvement Engineer roles.

⦿ Comfortable working on the production floor and engaging directly with operations teams.
