What they need
Contract Administrator – Large-Scale Energy & Construction Projects
Location: Remote (U.S.) – subject to confirmation
Travel: Occasional travel – subject to confirmation
Industry: Energy / Infrastructure / Engineering & Construction
About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading organization in the energy and infrastructure sector seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to support several large-scale construction and power generation projects.
This individual will play an important role in establishing and maintaining contract administration processes, coordinating with EPC contractors, and ensuring contractual documentation is accurate, organized, and compliant throughout the project lifecycle.
Unlike traditional contract administration roles that may focus on a single phase of development, this position offers the opportunity to support projects from initial contracting through construction execution and closeout.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in EPC or large-scale construction contracting, understands the different phases of project delivery, and is comfortable taking ownership of contract documentation, compliance, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Direct natural gas power plant experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of contract administration systems, procedures, and documentation processes for large capital projects.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, project teams, and external stakeholders to collect, review, organize, and finalize contractual documentation.
- Administer contract obligations, ensuring compliance with project requirements, milestones, reporting obligations, and deliverables.
- Maintain contract deliverables matrices, correspondence logs, RFIs, submittals, and other project records.
- Establish and maintain organized, audit-ready contract documentation and tracking systems.
- Review contract terms, conditions, and flow-down requirements applicable to EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
- Support contract modifications, change orders, and equitable adjustments in coordination with project controls, legal, and project leadership.
- Monitor contractual risks, schedule-related obligations, and potential compliance issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams throughout development and execution.
- Support contract closeout activities, including final documentation, invoice reconciliation, and required certifications.
Qualifications
- Approximately 6–10 years of experience in contract administration, construction contracts, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of EPC contracting processes and the lifecycle of large-scale construction projects.
- Experience managing contractual documentation, compliance requirements, deliverables, and project records.
- Familiarity with construction contract terms, change orders, contract modifications, and risk management.
- Experience working directly with EPC contractors, construction teams, suppliers, or external project stakeholders.
- Ability to establish and maintain organized documentation systems and support audit requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating with project leadership.
- Experience in energy, utilities, industrial construction, water/wastewater, or other large capital infrastructure projects is relevant.
- Direct natural gas power generation experience is not required.
What Makes This Opportunity Unique
This role offers the opportunity to help establish contract administration processes for major infrastructure projects from the ground up.
Rather than transitioning off a project once development is complete, the Contract Administrator will remain involved through construction execution, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle.
The position offers meaningful responsibility, collaboration with EPC contractors and project leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to long-term contract management and documentation practices.
