What they need

Company Overview

Our client is an international infrastructure group with a long track record of delivering large-scale, complex programmes for public sector clients. Their portfolio includes some of the most significant social infrastructure programmes undertaken in Ireland and the UK, delivering essential public facilities that serve communities for decades.

The group combines deep technical and delivery capability with the financial strength and governance expected of a major international organisation. They are known for long-term client partnerships, rigorous commercial management and a disciplined approach to risk across the full lifecycle of their programmes.

With a substantial and growing portfolio across both jurisdictions, the business is strengthening its senior commercial and contractual capability. This appointment will play a critical role in protecting and recovering value, resolving complex entitlement matters and advising leadership on commercial risk.

Working Environment & Projects

Based in Dublin, you will operate as a senior contract and claims specialist across a portfolio of major infrastructure programmes. These are high-value, long-duration schemes involving multiple stakeholders, complex contractual structures and significant commercial exposure, where expert management of entitlement and change is central to programme success.

You will work closely with programme directors, commercial leadership, planning teams and legal advisers, and will be a trusted adviser to executive leadership on claims strategy, contractual position and commercial risk. The role carries genuine autonomy and influence, with your judgement directly shaping key commercial decisions.

The environment is professional, collaborative and intellectually demanding, suited to someone who enjoys building robust arguments, leading negotiations and engaging with independent dispute and technical advisory bodies. You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise across some of the most complex and high-profile programmes in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Lead claims strategy across major infrastructure programmes, from early identification of entitlement through to resolution
  • Prepare, review and defend claims, including entitlement analysis, quantum and supporting narrative
  • Direct and review delay and disruption analysis, working with planning teams to establish robust time-related entitlement
  • Oversee variation and change management processes, ensuring contractual compliance and value protection
  • Lead negotiated settlements with clients, supply chain partners and other stakeholders
  • Manage engagement with dispute boards and technical advisory boards, including preparation of submissions and representation
  • Advise on cash flow and payment restructuring to protect programme liquidity and commercial position
  • Provide clear, strategic advice to executive leadership on commercial and contractual risk
  • Mentor commercial teams and embed best practice in contract administration and notice management

What You Need

  • 10+ years’ commercial and contractual experience, including contract and claims management on major infrastructure programmes
  • Demonstrable expertise in claims strategy, entitlement and delay analysis, variation management and negotiated settlements
  • Experience engaging with dispute boards and technical advisory boards, and preparing formal submissions
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and Public Works Contracts, and of recognised delay analysis methodologies
  • Experience within social infrastructure or public-private partnership environments is beneficial but not essential
  • A degree in quantity surveying, engineering, construction law or a related discipline; MRICS, MSCSI and/or MCIArb membership is advantageous
  • The gravitas and communication skills to advise executive leadership and lead high-stakes negotiations

What You'll Get in Return

This role offers a salary of €150,000, alongside a comprehensive benefits package reflecting the seniority of the appointment. You will have direct influence at executive level and genuine ownership of outcomes on some of the most significant infrastructure programmes in Ireland and the UK. With a substantial long-term portfolio across both jurisdictions, this is a platform for sustained involvement in major programmes and continued progression within a leading international group.
