Contract Group Facilitator - PHP/IOP

Overview

Midtown Recovery Center is seeking creative, engaging, and motivated individuals to facilitate activity-based and experiential groups for adults in our outpatient mental health and substance use treatment program.

We welcome individuals with experience or specialized skills in music therapy, art therapy, drama therapy, recreational activities, mindfulness, movement, and other therapeutic or enrichment-based group activities. We are looking for facilitators who can create engaging, interactive experiences that support emotional expression, personal growth, coping skills, and recovery.

Available Hours:

• Tuesdays: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM
• Thursdays: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Position Type: Contract

This is an excellent opportunity for creative professionals, experienced group facilitators, and qualified specialty practitioners looking for flexible, part-time work with a meaningful purpose.

Prior experience working with behavioral health or substance use populations is preferred. Specific credentials or licensure may be required depending on the type of services provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize materials and activities for scheduled group therapy sessions.
• Track and document client attendance for all assigned groups.
• Facilitate engaging, structured group sessions that encourage participation and support client treatment goals.
• Redirect clients who are disengaged or disruptive to maintain a positive and therapeutic group environment.
• Complete accurate group therapy notes and documentation in the EHR system.
• Communicate concerning client behaviors, safety concerns, or changes in presentation to the clinical team promptly.

Experience

• Familiarity with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
• Understanding of outpatient behavioral health programs, including Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
• Experience facilitating group sessions in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related settings.
• Experience using EHR/EMR systems and completing group therapy documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage clients, redirect disengaged participants, and maintain a supportive group environment.

Pay: $35.00 - $75.00 per hour
