Contract Manager

About the role

Bina PYK (Sabah) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our construction team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects through effective contract administration and management. The Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and protecting the company's interests whilst maintaining positive client relationships. This role is essential to our operations and directly impacts project profitability, timeline adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

1. Lead and manage all quantity surveying and contract administration activities for assigned projects.
2. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BQ) and tender documents.
3. Evaluate tenders, quotations and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Prepare and manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
5. Monitor project costs, cash flow and budget performance.
6. Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders (VO) and final accounts.
7. Review and verify subcontractors' progress claims and invoices.
8. Administer contracts in accordance with contract terms and project requirements.
9. Identify contractual risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
10. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams on contractual and commercial matters.
11. Prepare cost reports, financial forecasts and project cost analyses for management.
12. Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for all contractual matters.
13. Mentor and provide technical guidance to QS team members.
14. Support project teams in cost control and value engineering initiatives.
15. Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and relevant regulations.
16. Perform any other duties assigned by management.

What we're looking for

·            Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

·            Strong time management and project management skills

. Candidates with experience managing subcontractors, consultants, and clients will have an added advantage.

·           At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field.

·           Required language, Chinese, English, Bahasa Malaysia.
