**About the Role -**RK Road Transport Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Contractor Manager to oversee third-party fleet operations, vendor empanelment, and transport logistics. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing reliable vehicle owners and market fleet contractors, negotiating freight rates, ensuring operational compliance, and maintaining seamless cargo movement.
Key Responsibilities

• Contractor & Fleet Onboarding: Identify, vet, and empanel third-party fleet contractors, market vehicle owners, and transport operators to meet daily operational demands.
• Rate Negotiation & Contracting: Negotiate competitive freight rates (per-ton / per-KM basis), structure vendor contracts, and define clear SLA and performance expectations.
• Vehicle Placement & Dispatch Management: Ensure daily vehicle availability and timely placement at plant/loading points for bulk, industrial, or general goods cargo.
• Compliance & Documentation: Verify contractor vehicle documents (RC, National Permits, Insurance, Fitness Certificates) and driver credentials before dispatch.
• Tracking & Operational Support: Track ongoing transits, resolve route disruptions, vehicle breakdowns, or driver issues, and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
• Billing & Vendor Settlements: Oversee Proof of Delivery (POD) collection, verify freight bills, reconcile fuel advances, and manage penalty deductions for shortages or delays.
• Performance Evaluation: Monitor vendor reliability, placement speed, safety compliance, and overall transit efficiency.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 3 to 6+ years of experience in fleet management, contractor operations, or transport logistics (preferably in industrial/bulk road transport).
• Skills: Strong negotiation, vendor management, team coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge: Sound understanding of road transport laws, motor vehicle compliance, GST/LR documentation, and freight market rates.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Any Discipline, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration preferred.
