Project Manager – Educational Content Development

About the Opportunity

The Reimagined Classroom is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in education, curriculum development, and instructional design to lead the development of high-quality educational content.

This role is ideal for an educational leader who understands how great instructional materials are developed and has the project management skills to bring people, processes, and deliverables together.

Our projects span STEM curriculum, digital learning experiences, AI-enhanced educational resources, graphic design, and multimedia production. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exceptional quality standards.

What You'll Do

Lead Projects & Client Relationships

• Manage educational content development projects from kickoff through final delivery.
• Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.
• Monitor project progress, team hours, and budgets to keep projects on track.
• Anticipate challenges, solve problems proactively, and keep teams moving forward.

Oversee Content Development & Quality

• Guide the development of standards-aligned curriculum, instructional resources, and digital learning experiences.
• Coordinate instructional design, STEM content development, graphic design, and multimedia production workflows.
• Ensure deliverables meet instructional, editorial, visual, accessibility, and client quality expectations.
• Manage review and revision cycles, ensuring feedback is addressed accurately and efficiently.

Lead & Support Teams

• Lead remote teams of curriculum writers, instructional designers, subject matter experts, graphic designers, and multimedia specialists.
• Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and accountability.
• Balance staffing, workloads, and production priorities to maximize efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen collaboration, and support team success.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience managing curriculum development, instructional design, educational publishing, or EdTech projects.
• Strong background in education, including classroom teaching, curriculum development, or instructional leadership.
• Experience developing or overseeing standards-aligned instructional materials, preferably in STEM.
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, timelines, staffing, and multiple deliverables.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and educational content quality.
• Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using project management platforms such as monday.com, Asana, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing projects involving AI-enhanced learning, educational technology, or digital content development.
• Familiarity with graphic design, educational video production, and multimedia development workflows.
• Experience working with educational publishers or curriculum development organizations.
• Knowledge of educational accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Experience leading remote teams and independent contractors.
• Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.

• Position: Project Manager – Educational Content Development
• Job Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor
• Compensation: $40 per hour
• Location: 100% Remote
• Availability: Minimum 25 hours per week when assigned to client projects
• Schedule: Project-based, with regular client and team collaboration
