Contractor Engineer / Contractor Manager

About the role

Contractor Manager: Lead and manage overall construction activities and site operations for the project. Contractor Engineer: Supervise and coordinate daily construction and engineering activities at the project site.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contractor Manager

• Lead and manage overall construction activities and site operations for the project.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and site resources.
• Ensure construction works are completed according to project schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and technical specifications.
• Identify and resolve construction, technical, and site-related issues.
• Lead site coordination and progress meetings and provide regular updates to management.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Lead the project team in achieving key project milestones and successful project completion.

2. Contractor Engineer

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction and engineering activities at the project site.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documents.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and project requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams.
• Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and construction resources.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain proper project documentation.
• Support the Project Manager / Contractor Manager in achieving project targets.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, or project execution
• For Contractor Manager, minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience with strong site management and leadership experience is preferred
• Strong experience in construction site management, project execution, and contractor/subcontractor coordination
• Experience in large-scale construction, industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects is highly preferred
• Experience with main contractors, EPC contractors, or international construction companies will be an advantage
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules, and site coordination
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment
• Good command of English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
