Contractor Project Manager

MCJ Appointments is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a local council’s Property Services team, managing telecommunications proposals, commercial leases and special property projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone with strong negotiation skills who enjoys bringing stakeholders together and driving projects through to completion.

About the role
Working closely with the Chief Property Officer and Coordinator Property Management, you will:

• Manage new and existing telecommunications proposals and unsolicited commercial lease proposals.
• Negotiate lease terms, rental arrangements and conditions, coordinating the required approvals.
• Prepare Council reports, project documentation and progress updates.
• Coordinate consultation with Council teams, consultants, government agencies, developers and the community.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, operating plans and budgets.
• Provide strategic advice, review policies and maintain accurate project records.
• Ensure projects meet agreed outcomes, governance requirements and quality standards.

About you
You will bring:

• Qualifications in project coordination, project management or a related field.
• Experience coordinating projects and strategic planning within local government, the public sector or a large multidisciplinary organisation.
• Strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver projects within agreed timeframes.

Experience with telecommunications or commercial leasing would be highly regarded, along with knowledge of government procurement and project delivery requirements.
