Contractors Estimator

Pearce Construction is an employee owned company run by its members for the benefit of its members and clients. This post includes member status after 12 months service which then entitles the post holder to tax free profit share distributions.

Seeking an experienced, reliable person to join our successful Contracting team based in North Devon. The successful applicant will require excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure and to deadlines using their own initiative. Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for commercial construction projects generally up to £10M

• Abilty to take-off and schedule works and materials from plans

• Work as part of a bid team when estimating answering qualitive questions

• Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate costing

• Monitor project progress and provide regular cost reports

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions

• Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors

• Conduct site visits to and verify quantities

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator

• Contrcats rangsing form 100K to 10M

• Strong knowledge of estimating principles and techniques

• Excellent analytical and numerical skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Effective communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

As a general contracting Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful bidding for construction projects typically £1M to £2M and up to £10M. You will provide accurate cost estimates and identifying cost-saving opportunities. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that estimates are submitted on time while maintaining high standards.
