Contracts & Projects Manager – Reinforcing

About the role

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have overall responsibility for reinforcing projects following contract award, leading the teams responsible for detailing, project coordination, quantity surveying/commercial management and steel fixing. You will oversee a portfolio of projects and be accountable for ensuring they are properly planned, commercially managed, resourced and successfully delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multiple reinforcing projects from award through to completion
• Lead and develop our Detailing, Project Coordination, QS and Steel Fixing teams
• Maintain oversight of project programmes, resources, risks and customer requirements
• Drive strong commercial performance including project costs, variations, claims and margin management
• Plan and manage employed and subcontracted steel fixing resources
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors and project stakeholders
• Identify project issues early and lead their resolution
• Drive accountability, productivity and continuous improvement across the project delivery team
• Work closely with production and transport to ensure projects are delivered efficiently

About you

• Experienced construction professional with leadership, commercial capability and practical project delivery experience
• Experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager, Commercial/Projects Manager or similar within the construction industry
• Experience in reinforcing steel, structural concrete, precast or structural construction is advantageous
• Takes ownership and gets things done
• Can lead and develop a diverse team
• Understands both the operational and commercial sides of project delivery
• Can manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Builds strong relationships with customers
• Identifies problems early rather than waiting for them to become problems
• Comfortable holding people accountable while creating a positive team environment
