The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Contracts Director to join an established and growing workspace design and build company based in the North West.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to take full ownership of the contracts division, lead an established delivery team and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to manage and develop the division, with a genuine long-term opportunity to progress into a senior Directorship position, including the potential for future equity.
Key Responsibilities

- Oversee multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Manage and develop an existing team of approximately 5 Contracts Managers, 3 Quantity Surveyors and several directly employed Site Managers.
- Implement structure, accountability and effective operational procedures across the division.
- Monitor project programmes, contractual obligations, health & safety and overall delivery performance.
- Provide regular updates to the Board on project progress, commercial performance and operational matters.
- Recruit, develop and build the team in line with the company's continued growth.
- Support business development activities and contribute to securing new opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven senior management experience within the workspace design and build sector.
- Strong track record of managing multiple projects and leading operational teams.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, project programmes, health & safety and commercial processes.
- Confident managing people, driving performance and implementing improvements.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Commercially aware, proactive and comfortable reporting directly to the Board.
- Ambitious and motivated by the opportunity to take ownership of a growing division.
- Willing and able to travel regularly between sites across the North West.
Salary & Benefits
- Basic salary starting around £90,000, depending on experience.
- Car allowance of £6,000–£8,000 per annum.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Eligibility for a tax-free bonus scheme after 12 months.
- 1% commission on the contract value of new business personally introduced that converts into an order (based on contract value rather than profit).
- Long-term career progression with potential Directorship and future equity opportunities.
- Significant autonomy and the ability to shape and grow the division.
This position will suit someone already in a leadership role looking to continue progressing with a key player in the workspace design and build sector.
