Contracts Manager – Exciting Growth Opportunity

Frixos Metal Works Ltd
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive – flexible package based on experience and credentials

Join the team at Frixos

Frixos Metal Works is looking for an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to take responsibility for delivering a portfolio of structural steel and architectural metalwork projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing business where you will have real ownership of your contracts, work closely with our senior management team and play an important role in strengthening relationships with our key clients.

You will typically manage between three and six live contracts, ranging in value from approximately £500,000 to £4.5 million, overseeing each project from handover through design, procurement, production, delivery, installation and final completion.

Key responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of allocated contracts.
  • Review tender information, bills of quantities, drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Attend pre-start, progress, client and site meetings.
  • Establish project requirements, key milestones and delivery programmes.
  • Coordinate design, procurement, production, delivery and installation activities.
  • Work closely with our design and detailing teams to manage BIM models, client approvals and construction issue drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain project programmes, information-release schedules, method statements and site-planning documentation.
  • Monitor progress, identify delays and implement appropriate recovery actions.
  • Coordinate directly with clients, professional teams, subcontractors and site-installation teams.
  • Review installation reports and inspect completed works.
  • Monitor contract budgets, profitability, variations and other key performance indicators.
  • Prepare clear internal and external progress reports.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with Frixos quality standards.
  • Support tender submissions and help develop relationships that generate future opportunities.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • At least five years’ experience within contracts or construction management.
  • Experience in structural steel fabrication, architectural metalwork, manufacturing or a closely related construction environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract budgets and profitability.
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with clients, professional teams and internal departments.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Tekla, Sage or Eque2 would be advantageous.
  • A construction-related degree, HNC or qualification in project management or quantity surveying is desirable.
  • CIOB or RICS membership would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The flexibility to work outside normal hours when project requirements dictate.

Why join Frixos?

This is a key position offering genuine responsibility, variety and the opportunity to influence how major contracts are delivered. You will work alongside an experienced operational and commercial team within a business committed to quality, collaboration and continued growth.

If you are an organised, commercially aware Contracts Manager who enjoys taking ownership and delivering successful projects, we would be delighted to hear from you.
