Contracts Manager

Invelaphi Group is a construcGon company operaGng within the Civil engineering, General Building,

Mechanical and Electrical disciplines in and around the Republic of South Africa.

PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW OF THE POST

The enGty is looking to hire a competent and experienced Contracts Manage with strong commercial

and operaGons Management Background to join our team, to lead, managing contractual and costs

elements, DraTing and negoGaGng contracts, General construcGon project management, including

company compliance with policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Built-Environment QualificaGon NQF level 7 (e.g. BSc ConstrucGon Studies, BTech

or Advanced Diploma: ConstrucGon Management/QuanGty Surveying/etc.)

• Compulsory proven relevant experience 7 years + in General Building or Civil ContracGng

works (With a minimum of 3 Years as a Contracts Manager)

• RegistraGon with SACPCMP as a Candidate or Professional ConstrucGon Manager will be

advantageous

KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Essen?al:

• Built-Environment QualificaGon – NQF level 7
• Minimum of 3+ Years as a Contracts Manager
• Strong understanding of contract law, construcGon methodology, and project delivery

frameworks

• BudgeGng, financial reporGng, risk management and financial record keeping
• Experience in managing Sub-contractors and general labourers’ payrolls and

other employment (subbies and general labourers’ contracts)

• Excellent report wriGng skills and Gme management skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Good verbal and wriben communicaGon skills
• Flexibility, teamwork and planning
• Strong organizing skills with a problem-solving adtude
• AbenGon to detail
• Sound knowledge and understanding of OccupaGonal Health and Safety Act 85

of 1993

• Sound Knowledge and Understanding of ConstrucGon RegulaGons 2014
• Sound knowledge and Understanding of JBCC Series 2000 and GCC 2010 &

2015, Knowledgeability in FIDIC and NEC would be an added advantage.

• Good InterpretaGon of Technical drawings and SpecificaGons
• Basic Knowledge of Labour Law and RelaGons
• Strong Knowledge of Quality Management Procedures in line with ISO 9001
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Payments and Cost management

Systems.

• Strong Team Leadership Skills
• Sound UnderstaGng of Tendering Procedures and DocumentaGon
