Contracts Manager

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join a leading construction firm. The role will oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring effective contract administration, risk management, claims management and achievement of commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams to protect the company's contractual and commercial interests.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage project procurement, including tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
• Draft, review and manage contractual correspondence and post-contract administration.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Manage EOT, variation, Loss & Expense and other contractual claims, working closely with the planning and project teams.
• Prepare and monitor project cash flow, budgets, cost control and detailed cost reports.
• Provide contractual advice and support in resolving disputes, ambiguities and commercial issues.
• Review contract documents, Letters of Award and contractual clauses to identify potential exposures.
• Lead, manage and mentor the Quantity Surveying/commercial team.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to the Project Director and senior management.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 15 years' experience in contracts/commercial management within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of PSSCOC and/or LTA Conditions of Contract (LTACOC).
• Good understanding of contract law, commercial principles, procurement and construction practices.
• Strong experience in claims, EOT, variations and dispute resolution.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, drafting and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management software.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction regulations and industry standards is preferred.
• Diploma/Bachelor's Degree or recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification in Contracts Management, Law or a related field will be an advantage.
