Contracts Manager

An ASX listed gold developer is moving one of Western Australia's most significant new gold projects toward construction, and is building the team that will deliver it. This is a chance to join early, shape the contracting framework from the ground up and see a major project through from feasibility to first gold.

The role

You will lead the contracting activity across the project's development phase. That means owning the full contract lifecycle on a portfolio of significant packages, from strategy and tender through to award, administration and close out. You will be the commercial anchor between the project team, suppliers and contractors, protecting the company's position while keeping relationships constructive.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing contracting and procurement strategies for major packages including EPC/EPCM, mining services, earthworks, accommodation and site services
• Running tender processes, evaluations and negotiations, and preparing award recommendations
• Drafting and managing contracts, variations, claims and commercial correspondence
• Building the systems, templates and governance that will support the business into construction and operations
• Working closely with project, finance, legal and operations teams to manage commercial risk

About you

• Strong contracts background in mining, resources or major infrastructure, ideally with exposure to a project moving through FID and construction
• Hands on experience with large contract packages and standard forms (AS4000, AS2124 or similar)
• Commercially sharp negotiator who is comfortable holding a position with tier one contractors
• Able to build process in a growing business rather than inheriting it
• Tertiary qualifications in law, engineering, commerce or a related discipline
