Contracts Officer (Australia Based)

We are looking for a strong communicator who is smart, organised, and technically adept Contracts Officer to join our team. The role involves managing approved lending deals through the contracts and execution process, working closely with the Head of Contracts and Underwriting team.

The successful applicant will manage multiple deals at different stages, prepare and review contracts, coordinate with borrowers/customers and internal staff, and ensure all required documentation and checks are completed before a deal is finalised.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review and manage lending contracts using our automated contract preparation system.
• Coordinate with borrowers/customers, underwriters and internal staff to obtain outstanding information and documentation.
• Manage multiple deals and keep track of their progress.
• Complete required KYC, documentation, and verification processes.
• Identify missing information, inconsistencies and potential risks in contracts and credit information.
• Escalate concerns to the Head of Contracts and ensure issues are resolved before a deal progresses to funding.
• Ensure completed deals are ready for final approval and quality control is successful before they are funded.

Qualifications:

• Smart and switched on, with good judgement and common sense.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple, time-sensitive tasks at once.
• Detail-oriented, with an ability to spot things that don't look right.
• Communicative and easy to deal with, both internally and with clients.
• Proactive and willing to ask questions rather than simply follow a checklist.
• Comfortable identifying reasons why a deal should not proceed when something doesn't add up.
• Reliable, accountable and able to work independently.
• Previous experience in lending, finance, contracts or administration is advantageous but not essential. Training will be provided on the systems and processes.
