Contracts Specialist - Projects

MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading organisation within the energy and infrastructure sector to recruit an experienced Contracts Specialist - Projects, for an initial contract of up to 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established procurement and commercial team, supporting the delivery of capital projects and infrastructure works across Western Australia.

About the Role

Reporting into the Contracts & Procurement team, you will provide end-to-end commercial and contractual support across a portfolio of capital and infrastructure projects.

This is a hands-on role covering both pre-award and post-award contract management, working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure effective commercial outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end contracting activities across capital and infrastructure projects
• Develop tender packages, scopes of work and commercial documentation
• Coordinate tender processes, evaluations, clarifications and recommendations for award
• Review, draft and negotiate construction, engineering, consultancy and services contracts
• Provide commercial and contractual advice to project delivery teams
• Manage post-award activities including variations, claims, progress payments and contractual correspondence
• Manage contract close-out activities, including final accounts, settlements and release of securities
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Strong experience as a Contracts Specialist, Contracts Administrator or Contracts Engineer within projects
• Previous experience across energy, utilities, oil & gas, mining, construction or infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated experience managing construction and engineering contracts
• Strong capability across both pre-award and post-award contract management
• Experience in tendering, contract formation, evaluation and commercial negotiations
• Relevant qualifications in Commerce, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline will be highly regarded
