Control Engineer

Position: Control Engineer

Location: North Haven, CT (Onsite)

Job Summary & Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to manufacturing and maintenance operations on a daily basis.

• Troubleshoot machine stoppages and perform root cause analysis for automated assembly equipment.

• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics to diagnose servo and stepper motion control systems using conventional diagnostic tools.

• Create equipment specifications for vendors to quote automated and manual custom assembly equipment.

• Review vendor equipment quotes, participate in design reviews, and assist in supplier selection and qualification.

• Lead and contribute to DFMEA, PFMEA, Machine Risk Assessments, and CTQ process definitions.

• Participate actively in equipment validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and ensure adherence to NFPA standards.

• Review and implement process improvements to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

• Coordinate activities across cross-functional project teams and suppliers. Requires up to 10% domestic travel.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.

• Hands-on expertise in electrical/controls design, servo and stepper motion controllers, and electrical schematic interpretation.

• Strong experience with automated assembly equipment, NFPA standards, and root cause troubleshooting.

• Experience in regulated manufacturing, validation, PFMEA, and machine risk assessments.

• Strong communication and supplier collaboration skills.
