CONTROL ROOM OPERATORS

We are seeking a vigilant, detail-oriented, and technically competent Control Room Operator to monitor operational activities, equipment performance, security systems, and control room communication. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing monitoring systems, identifying abnormalities, responding to alarms, maintaining accurate operational logs, and promptly reporting incidents to the appropriate personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job Description

• Monitor control room systems, dashboards, CCTV cameras, alarms, and operational equipment.
• Observe real-time activities and identify unusual conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential safety risks.
• Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, and emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
• Communicate operational updates, incidents, and system abnormalities to supervisors and relevant departments.
• Maintain accurate logs of activities, system readings, incidents, alarms, and shift handovers.
• Monitor equipment performance and report faults or irregularities for prompt investigation.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and emergency response protocols.
• Coordinate with field personnel, security teams, maintenance staff, and other operational departments.
• Ensure effective communication during shift changes and provide detailed handover reports.
• Operate control room equipment and monitoring software according to company procedures.
• Escalate critical incidents and operational deviations to the appropriate supervisor without delay.
• Support incident investigations by providing accurate records, observations, and relevant system information.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure control room environment.
• Protect confidential operational information and prevent unauthorized access to control room systems.
• Perform other duties related to control room operations as assigned by management.

Requirements/Skills

• OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Control, Industrial Technology, or a related field, depending on the industry.
• Proven years of relevant experience in control room operations, monitoring, security operations, or industrial operations.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems, alarm systems, CCTV, dashboards, or relevant control room equipment.
• Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret system alerts, operational readings, and technical information.
• Good computer skills and ability to learn specialized monitoring software.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to remain alert, calm, and focused during emergencies.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and responsibility.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, where required.
• Ability to follow instructions, maintain accurate records, and work effectively under pressure.

Pay: ₦80,000.00 per month
