About the Role

Capefront Energies is looking for experienced Control & Safety System Engineers to support a major international Oil & Gas engineering project.

You will be responsible for Control & Safety System / ICSS engineering activities , contributing to the design, specification and validation of integrated control and safety systems during Basic and/or Detailed Engineering phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review technical specifications for DCS and SIS systems
• Develop and review ICSS / Control & Safety System architectures
• Participate in Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering activities
• Prepare functional engineering documentation, including:
• Functional Analyses
• Control Narratives
• Cause & Effect Matrices
• Logic Diagrams
• Support and follow up Functional Safety activities
• Coordinate internal and external technical interfaces
• Interface with engineering disciplines, vendors, partners and subcontractors
• Participate in the validation of installation requirements for Control, Safety and Fire & Gas systems
• Review system requirements including cabinet quantities and typical loops
• Ensure technical documentation complies with project requirements and applicable standards
• Report technical progress and issues to the Discipline Lead

The scope reflects the project's requirements for DCS/SIS specifications, ICSS architectures, functional specifications, Cause & Effect, logic diagrams and Functional Safety activities.

Required Profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong experience in Control & Safety Systems within the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven knowledge of ICSS, DCS and SIS
• Experience with Onshore and/or Offshore Oil & Gas projects
• Good knowledge of Fire & Gas (F&G) systems
• Experience working across multidisciplinary engineering interfaces
• Knowledge of ICSS installation and validation requirements
• Experience in Basic and/or Detailed Engineering
• Ability to work with engineering teams, vendors and subcontractors
• Professional level of English

Standards & Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of the following standards is expected:

• IEC 61511 – Functional Safety
• IEC 62443
• ISA 5.1 / 5.2 / 5.3 / 5.4 / 5.5 / 5.6

IEC 61511 certification such as TÜV / QUALI-SIL would be considered an advantage.
