Controller / Accounting Manager

EverGreen Real Estate Development Corporation and Open Arms Home Health Care are a small affiliated group of diversified Scott County companies seeking an accountant to manage accounting functions and supervise a small accounting staff. EverGreen owns and operates Section 42 multi-family and senior housing residential rental complexes in Minnesota and Iowa. Open Arms Home Health Care is a Medicare certified home health agency that administers and provides nursing and home health services at the senior housing complexes in Iowa.

Controller Compensation:

EverGreen offers a supportive administrative environment and a comprehensive and competitive salary and benefits package. The salary is negotiable depending on experience and skills relevant to the position. Available benefits for full-time employees include health, dental, vision, 401k and holiday, sick and vacation.

Controller Job Description:

• Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Monthly property and operations financials – 12 rental partnerships and 4 home health agencies and facility food service
• Limited budget projections
• Cash management / bank reconciliations
• Monitoring of receivables, payables, tax and insurance payments
• Payroll and related accounting
• Supervise accounting activities and small staff (accounts payable, medical billing and payroll specialist)
• Maintain investor and lender reporting requirements
• Frequent interactions with small corporate office personnel and site managers

Controller Qualifications:

• Applicants must have a minimum four year accounting/finance degree and demonstrated abilities relevant to position.
• Supervisory experience and CPA certification is preferable.
• Applicants should have ability to apply critical thinking to the complexities of a fast paced business environment and have accounting intuition to address accounting functions unique to diversified operations.
• Applicants should possess excellent computer skills with proficiency in word, excel, quick books and have demonstrated skills transferable to other operations software applications.
• Applicants should have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
