Controller

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
• Support senior management with financial analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in accounting or financial management roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze existing software and look for solutions to alleviate financial bottlenecks and create overall reporting efficiencies.

Work Environment

The Controller will work in an office setting in downtown Chicago near Millenium Park. The expectation will be to be in the office most days with some hybrid opportunities. The Controller will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Occasional travel may be required for audits or external meetings.
