Controller

For our client, we are seeking a Controller to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space.

This role will oversee accounting operations across corporate and development activities in a real estate environment, with a strong focus on financial integrity, internal controls, and process improvement. The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership, Development, Legal, investors, and public agencies to support compliance and informed decision-making. This is a key leadership position for someone who can strengthen accounting infrastructure, guide a team, and evaluate the financial risks and feasibility of development initiatives.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting functions for corporate and development operations
• Recruit and mentor property and development accounting teams
• Serve as the main accounting advisor to executive leadership
• Evaluate project feasibility and financial risks for developments
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; Master's preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in leadership
• Extensive experience in affordable housing development and LIHTC partnerships
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software
