Controller

Atlantic Group is hiring a Controller in Montgomery County, PA for our client, a well-established global consumer products manufacturing/distribution company, which has been experiencing continued growth! The successful candidate will be leading the core based accounting functions including financial statements, month-end close, financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and audit activities. This role will support domestic and international accounting operations while partnering across the organization to maintain accurate financial reporting and strengthen accounting processes. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of accounting experience with recent manufacturing or consumer products industry experience and a strong knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities as the Controller:

• Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities.
• Financial Reporting: Lead preparation and review of financial statements, management reporting, and financial analysis while maintaining compliance with US GAAP.
• Audit & Controls: Manage audit activities while strengthening accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls.
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting for senior leadership.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop accounting professionals while strengthening processes, accountability, and collaboration across the finance function.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Improve accounting systems, workflows, reporting, data accuracy, and overall finance processes.

Qualifications for the Controller:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Certification: CPA is preferred.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required, including accounting leadership, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit experience.
• Industry Knowledge: Corporate accounting experience within a complex operating environment is required, with manufacturing or related industry experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system proficiency are required, with financial systems and process improvement experience preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and cross-functional business partnership skills are required.
