Controller – Multi-Entity Business Operations

Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview

A privately held, multi-business organization in Pompano Beach is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting across multiple business entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with business owners, understands the complexities of multi-entity accounting, and can bring organization, accuracy, and improved processes to a growing operation.

The ideal candidate is highly proficient in QuickBooks, comfortable working across multiple companies, and capable of both managing day-to-day accounting functions and providing ownership with clear, reliable financial reporting.

This is a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who can understand the details, improve existing systems, and ultimately become a trusted financial resource to ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple business entities
• Manage and review general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Produce clear reporting and financial information for ownership
• Monitor cash flow and financial activity across multiple businesses
• Maintain appropriate separation and allocation of expenses between entities
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Review financial data for accuracy and identify discrepancies or areas requiring attention
• Improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation
• Help develop a more centralized reporting system across the organization
• Participate in the implementation and improvement of CRM/reporting systems and processes
• Coordinate with outside CPAs, tax professionals, payroll providers, banks, and other financial partners as needed
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, and financial visibility
• Work closely and directly with ownership on financial and operational priorities

Qualifications

• Significant accounting, bookkeeping, Controller, or senior-level financial management experience
• Advanced QuickBooks experience required
• Experience managing accounting for multiple businesses, entities, locations, or divisions strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills
• Experience developing or improving accounting processes and internal controls
• Comfortable working directly with business owners and senior leadership
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Comfortable operating in a growing, entrepreneurial environment where priorities may evolve
• CPA or formal accounting degree is valued but not required for a candidate with significant relevant experience

Schedule: Approximately 45 hours per week
Location: Pompano Beach, FL – On-Site
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000, based on experience
