Company Description:

Our publicly traded consumer products client is searching for a Controller to lead accounting operations across its domestic and international entities. Partnering closely with regional business leaders and corporate finance, this individual will oversee and develop the accounting team and play a key role in financial reporting, SOX compliance, and process improvement. Their ideal candidate must have progressive accounting leadership experience in a publicly traded company or a consumer products company and ideally hold a CPA or CMA License.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy.
• Produce GAAP-compliant financial statements and reporting packages that meet corporate deadlines.
• Uphold a strong control environment aligned with SOX requirements and the company's control framework.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit on control testing, remediation of deficiencies, and ongoing improvements.
• Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with local statutory reporting obligations.
• Oversee core accounting functions, including payables, receivables, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Deliver financial analysis to senior leadership, highlighting variances, trends, and opportunities to improve performance.
• Research technical accounting matters and provide guidance on complex transactions, including pre-execution contract review.
• Assess the financial impact of new business initiatives and investments, supporting long-range planning and growth strategy.
• Lead process enhancements and reporting automation to improve efficiency and deliver real-time financial insights.
• Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff while building a scalable, high-performing team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Accounting leadership experience is required
• CPA or CMA is required
• Experience in a publicly-traded company and/or consumer products company is required
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls
• ERP experience (D365, NetSuite, or Baan preferred) and advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot); Power BI a plus
