Company Overview
We are a dynamic, fast-growing manufacturing company expanding our operations and market footprint. We are seeking a strategic yet hands-on Corporate Controller to build out our financial infrastructure and guide our next phase of growth. This role offers an entrepreneurial environment where your leadership will directly influence business strategy and profitability.
Position Summary
The Controller will own all financial, accounting, and reporting functions. You will lead month-end close, optimize cost accounting, provide deep gross margin analysis, and oversee external audits. As a key partner to the leadership team and FP&A functions, you will transition the company from foundational accounting to scalable, data-driven financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of a timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
- Prepare and present GAAP-compliant financial statements to executive leadership.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Direct the standard costing system, including material, labor, and overhead absorption.
- Deliver deep-dive analysis on gross margins by product line, plant, and customer.
- Identify and explain manufacturing variances to optimize operational efficiency.
- Partner closely with the FP&A team to provide historical data, operational insights, and variance updates to improve the accuracy of rolling forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans.
- Bridge the gap between transactional accounting and strategic planning by translating gross margin and cost data into actionable insights for the FP&A team.
- Act as the primary liaison for external financial auditors, managing the annual audit process end-to-end and ensuring timely completion.
- Evaluate, enhance, or implement financial systems and ERP modules to support our growth.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to support working capital and capital expenditures (CapEx).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance + active CPA (MBA a plus).
- 10+ years of advancing accounting experience with deep expertise in GAAP.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or a comparable corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a team.
- Deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and inventory valuation.
- Advanced ERP proficiency and advanced Excel modeling skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while executing hands-on daily accounting tasks.
