Controller | Private Security Firm | Los Angeles, CA

Our client is a Los Angeles-based private security firm serving high-net-worth individuals, business leaders, and companies. Its services include uniformed guards, estate security, personal protection, and digital security. The firm is hiring a Controller to oversee its financial operations and financial strategy, working closely with the CEO and Operations leadership.

What you'll do

• Oversee accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor cash flow
• Analyze profitability by client account, comparing revenue against guard wages, payroll taxes, workers' compensation, insurance, equipment, and other costs
• Make sure client billing matches contracted rates, hours, overtime, special events, and additional services
• Maintain financial records and internal controls, and coordinate with outside accountants and tax professionals
• Set financial performance measures and report results to leadership

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial management
• Experience managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial controls
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills
• Ability to analyze labor costs, client profitability, and company financial performance
• Must be local to the Los Angeles area and agree to a background check

Preferred

• CPA certification
• MBA or a Master's in Finance or Accounting
• Experience in security, staffing, or another labor-intensive industry is strongly preferred

salary range: $110k-150k
