Controller – Food Manufacturing

Location: Franklin, WI

Schedule: On-Site 7am-4pm

Pay: $70-$75/hr

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and finance operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role will lead financial reporting, month-end close, manufacturing accounting, and financial analysis while partnering closely with plant and operations leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely transactional activities.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting, and other transactional functions.
• Monitor inventory, standard costs, manufacturing variances, COGS, and other manufacturing-related accounting activities.
• Partner with operations and plant leadership to analyze production costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and overall financial performance.
• Maintain accurate account reconciliations, financial controls, and accounting procedures.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial variance analysis.
• Provide financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior Controller or progressive accounting management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
• Manufacturing accounting experience, including inventory, standard costs, COGS, and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting/ERP systems.
