Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting activities. The Controller will work closely with senior leadership and oversee the accounting function while helping ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and sound financial processes.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the integrity of the company’s financial information, accounting processes, internal controls, and day-to-day accounting operations.

This position offers an experienced accounting professional the opportunity to take ownership of a broad accounting function and work directly with company leadership. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting skills with a practical, hands-on approach and the ability to improve processes as the organization continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting activities
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Coordinate annual audit and tax-related activities with outside providers
• Manage and develop accounting staff
• Monitor cash flow and working capital
• Partner with leadership on financial analysis and business decisions
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar accounting leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing the monthly close and preparing financial statements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience supervising or developing accounting staff
• CPA and/or public accounting experience is a plus
