  • Ensure consistent accounting practices across the company's various entities and business lines.
  • Coordinate with external CPAs, auditors, tax professionals, lenders, attorneys, and other financial partners as needed.

Multi-Entity & Real Estate Accounting

  • Monitor intercompany transactions, allocations, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure project and property-level financial information is accurate and useful to management.
  • Support accounting and reporting related to acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, construction activities, and capital expenditures.
  • Assist leadership with understanding property- and project-level profitability, cash flow, and financial performance.

Build & Lead the Accounting Team

  • Assess the current accounting team's structure, capabilities, and workload.
  • Develop an appropriate organizational structure and staffing plan as the company grows.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and manage accounting personnel.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, expectations, and accountability within the accounting department.
  • Create standardized workflows and processes that reduce dependence on individual employees and improve continuity.
  • Build a culture of accuracy, responsiveness, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Develop a reliable monthly financial reporting package for senior leadership.
  • Prepare and present regular financial updates to senior leadership, including key performance indicators, cash flow, profitability, budget-to-actual results, and significant financial trends.
  • Lead weekly, recurring financial review meetings with senior leadership and translate financial results into clear business insights.
  • Develop meaningful reporting by business line, property, project, and/or entity.
  • Identify financial risks, trends, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Improve visibility into cash requirements, working capital, project costs, and future financial obligations.
  • Partner with leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Establish meaningful KPIs and reporting metrics that help leadership make informed decisions.
