The Opportunity:

The Yachimec Group is excited to announce we are adding to our team and in search of a Controller. With over 30 years of dedicated service to the communities of Edmonton and Kelowna, we specialize in Automotive, Marine, and Sport. This position will be based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Role Overview:

The Controller, under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, will oversee comprehensive aspects of the company’s financial reporting and analytical processes. They are anticipated to be a pivotal figure in the enterprise’s management, playing a significant strategic role in both month and fiscal year-end closing procedures, delivering real-time analyses to promote the expansion of our operations in Alberta.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a team of staff managing all aspects of financial reporting, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and financial statement generation

• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records

• Ensure dealership flooring records are kept current

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports

• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets

• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes

• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial management

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the automotive industry

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations

• Proficient in using Microsoft suite of products

• Proficient in using accounting software

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
