$115,000 to $140,000 base, plus annual incentive

ABOUT WARFAB

Warfab is a privately held industrial services company headquartered in Hallsville, Texas. We maintain, repair, and relocate some of the largest machines in North American mining, provide outage and maintenance services to industrial plants across the Gulf South, and run a fabrication shop and parts business from our East Texas campus. Our crews work on fixed-price and time-and-materials projects in several states, and the accounting behind that work is the job described here.

THE ROLE

We are hiring a Controller to own the accounting function: the books, the monthly close, cash, job cost, and the reporting that leadership and ownership run the company on. This is a hands-on seat reporting to the President & CEO. You will run the close personally with a small team, own the thirteen-week cash flow, and be the person leadership trusts to say what a project is really earning and what the company really has in the bank.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Monthly close and financial statements on a fixed calendar, with a documented close checklist

• Thirteen-week cash flow forecast and weekly flash report, issued every Tuesday

• Percentage-of-completion and WIP schedules for fixed-price projects, reconciled to job cost monthly

• Job setup, cost coding, and open-jobs reporting in Sage, with a monthly margin review alongside division leadership

• Milestone and progress billing, retainage, and change order tracking

• Monthly ownership reporting package with variance commentary

• Banking relationship, line of credit management, covenant reporting, and borrowing base submissions

• Payroll accounting and system administration in Paycom; expense management and policy enforcement in Expensify

• Internal controls over cash, purchasing, payroll accounting, and expense approval

• Annual review or audit support, tax preparation support, and multi-state sales and use tax compliance

• Leadership and development of the accounting and purchasing team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Seven or more years in accounting, with at least three as a Controller or Assistant Controller

• Percentage-of-completion accounting on fixed-price projects. This is required, not preferred

• Thirteen-week cash flow forecasting and active line of credit management with a commercial bank

• Working experience in Paycom and Expensify, or comparable payroll and expense platforms with the ability to come up to speed quickly

• Experience producing reporting for private ownership, a board, or a lender

• Hands-on with a job-cost accounting system. Sage is a plus

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA or CMA preferred

• Able to work on site in Hallsville, Texas full time

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Base salary of $115,000 to $140,000, depending on experience
