Controller Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting and finance functions in a manufacturing environment. The Controller will ensure accurate, timely GAAP-compliant financial reporting, oversee budgeting and forecasting, manage ERP-driven accounting processes, and provide actionable financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions. This role combines technical accounting expertise with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration to drive financial discipline and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes and deliver timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports.
• Develop, manage, and improve budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes; provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, standard cost maintenance, and margin analysis to support manufacturing operations and pricing decisions.
• Manage and optimize the ERP system for accounting processes, including chart of accounts, integrations, reporting, and internal controls.
• Design, document, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies; coordinate external and internal audits and ensure compliance.
• Supervise and develop the accounting and finance team (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger), including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive process improvements and automation to increase accuracy and efficiency across financial operations.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital initiatives.
• Prepare and present monthly and ad-hoc financial analysis and metrics to senior management and stakeholders to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role; experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting policies and procedures.
• Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) including system configuration, reporting, and process optimization.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams and work cross-functionally with operations and manufacturing leaders.
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting tools and dashboards.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering clear, actionable insights to management.
