Controller

Position Summary:

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions for Hirschi Masonry. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, strong internal controls, and adherence to company policies. The Controller will provide leadership in financial operations, and partner with leadership to support profitability, cash flow, and long-term financial health.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the accounting functions of the company, including cash management, fixed assets, general ledger, A/R, A/P, and payroll.
• Manage the accumulation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of business results.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, internal controls over financial reporting, assets and accounting policies and procedures.
• Compile monthly financial statements and present results to management.
• Monitor the Work in Progress Schedule for Hirschi Masonry and ensure it is accurate at month’s close.
• Compile, monitor and communicate monthly and annual operating budgets.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital needs, ensuring strong billing and collections practices.
• Complete all paperwork, reports, statements, etc. required for federal and state regulatory agencies.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Controller or VP of Finance.

MUST HAVE — REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Pass mandatory drug test required.
• Must have at least 3 years of direct work experience as a Financial Controller.
• Must have a sound understanding of financial reporting, CPA preferred.
• Must be competent in mathematics and can interpret complex financial concepts.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must have a BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other type of related field of study. Master’s level preferred.
• Must have the ability to lead a team of employees involving hiring, terminating, disciplining, and completing performance evaluations.
• Must have operational knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Must be organized and demonstrate the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to read and write in English at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.

NICE TO HAVE — PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years working for a construction subcontractor.
• CPA certification.
• Master’s degree in related field.
• Trimble/Vista Viewpoint operational knowledge.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
