Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Controller to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll leverage your accounting expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls. You'll work closely with leaders across the business to deliver accurate financial information, support strategic decision-making, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Working alongside finance professionals and operational leaders, you'll help drive process improvements, support budgeting and forecasting initiatives, and contribute to the organization's financial success and growth.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple entities.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements, management reporting packages, variance analyses, and key financial performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies.
  • Coordinate external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors and other key stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while partnering with leaders across the organization to support business objectives.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior accounting or controller-level role.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close, accounts payable, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing consolidated financial statements for multi-entity organizations.
  • Some working knowledge of tax compliance obligations (corporate income tax, payroll taxes, HST/GST) but not required.
  • Experience coordinating and supporting external audit engagements.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (i,e, BST or Deltek.) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to evaluate processes and develop recommendations for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience in a multi-company or multi-location professional services environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to professionally handle and safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
