About Proview CFO

Proview CFO is a growing outsourced accounting and finance firm focused on helping e-commerce businesses build clean, accurate financial operations and make better decisions with their numbers.

We work with growing online brands across platforms like Shopify, Amazon, TikTok Shop, and other e-commerce channels. Our clients often have complex payment flows, inventory, multiple sales channels, high transaction volumes, and accounting systems that need a strong operator behind them.

We’re looking for an experienced E-Commerce Controller to help own the accounting operations for our clients and build scalable processes as Proview grows.

This is not a traditional corporate Controller role where you oversee one set of books. You’ll work across multiple e-commerce companies, solve complex accounting problems, manage month-end closes, and help ensure our clients’ financials are accurate, timely, and useful.

What You’ll Do

You will take ownership of accounting operations across a portfolio of e-commerce clients, including:

• Own and manage the monthly close process
• Review and maintain accurate financial statements
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and payment processor accounts
• Manage Shopify, Amazon, Stripe, PayPal, TikTok Shop, and other e-commerce accounting workflows
• Reconcile sales, refunds, discounts, fees, chargebacks, payouts, and clearing accounts
• Review revenue recognition and ensure sales are recorded accurately
• Manage inventory and COGS accounting, including inventory adjustments and month-end true-ups
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between operational systems and the general ledger
• Review bookkeeping performed by internal team members and contractors
• Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure accounts are properly reconciled
• Handle accruals, prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, payroll entries, and other month-end adjustments
• Improve accounting processes and develop scalable SOPs
• Help clean up historical accounting issues when onboarding new clients
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses and resolve accounting questions
• Partner with the fractional CFO team to provide accurate financial data for forecasting, KPI reporting, and strategic analysis
• Help train and develop bookkeepers and accounting staff as the team grows

What We’re Looking For

We care much more about your ability to understand how transactions actually flow through an e-commerce business than about checking every traditional accounting box.

You should have:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Deep understanding of accrual accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience working with e-commerce businesses
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Experience with payment processors and clearing accounts
• Strong understanding of inventory and COGS accounting
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Ability to investigate messy accounting situations and figure out what actually happened
• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the larger business
• Ability to manage multiple clients and competing priorities
• Ability to manage and lead a small accounting staff
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A high level of ownership and accountability

• A2X or similar e-commerce accounting tools
• Ramp
• Bill.com
• Gusto
• Inventory management systems
• Multi-channel e-commerce businesses
• Multi-entity accounting
• Sales tax workflows
• Accounting firm, outsourced accounting, or fractional CFO environments

CPA certification is welcome but not required. We care more about practical accounting ability and e-commerce experience.

Location

We strongly prefer someone located in the Dallas–Fort Worth area who can meet with us in person periodically.

Exceptional candidates outside Dallas with significant e-commerce accounting experience may also be considered.
