Controller (Silverton or Palisade area)

I have been retained by a long-term client to find a high-performing Controller to assist with financial statement prep, audits, M&A work, and business development projects.

This is a unique Controller opportunity supporting a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses and development projects, with direct exposure to ownership and a wide range of operating models.

• Agriculture & Manufacturing: A vertically integrated agricultural processing business that converts raw and secondary product into commercial goods, giving the Controller hands-on exposure to manufacturing economics, inventory, labor, production costs, waste management, and margin analysis.
• Agriculture & Hospitality: A working agricultural operation with an agritourism component and ongoing infrastructure investment, combining traditional production agriculture with hospitality and experiential revenue streams.
• Hospitality & Real Estate Development: A high-end destination hospitality project involving significant construction and development activity, sophisticated financing structures, government-backed lending, and tax-credit-related project finance. This provides exposure to transactions and capital structures rarely seen in a traditional middle-market Controller role.
• Media & Production: A growing media production venture with established distribution and developing strategic partnerships, adding another operating model and revenue stream to the portfolio.

The real draw is the breadth: one Controller seat touching agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, real estate development, project finance, and media production. Rather than being buried within a large finance department, this person will work directly with ownership and have visibility across both day-to-day operations and major strategic investments.

What you get:

Fully Remote, after training (some travel to ranches as needed)

Compensation in the 120-150K range

10-20% Bonus

What you need - must-haves:

6+ years of Tax or Accounting Experience

CPA (inactive is acceptable)

Wanting to work in a non-corporate environment

Desire and ability to work month-end close and then go fix a fence or walk an orchard
